Hello everyone.. Here I am going to write about my experience as an organizer, speaker, and a panel moderator at International Women's Day Celebration, Let's Celebrate International Women's Day 2017, by Women Techmakers(WTM) Sri Lanka. You can find more about Women Techmakers from here . Google's Women Techmakers program is to provide visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. There is a global event series at Women Techmakers to Celebrate International Women's Day. This year's theme is 'Telling Our Story'.  Celebrations for non-google venues are hosted by Google Developer Groups/ Women Techmakers Chapters and you can find out more about that from here . We started our event registrations at 8.30 AM on Sunday the March 5th 2017 and we had a set of volunteers to help us throughout the day with event day tasks. Women Techmakers Sri Lanka organized ‘WTM Mapping the World’ on 10th July 2016 from 9.00 am - 1.00 pm for 4 hours with 56 women participants at 99X Technology . This was the third event I involved in organizing as a Women Techmakers lead with other co-leads. The registrations for the event started at 8.30 AM and event was started at 9.00 AM by welcoming the audience and giving a brief introduction on event agenda. ‘Google Mapmaker Community Sri Lanka’ conducted a hands-on mapmaker training session for two hours and there were a considerable amount of contributions to mapmaking when the mapmaking session ended. Some swags were distributed among participants according to the number of contributions they made to mapmaking throughout the session. Women Techmakers Sri Lanka held their first International Women’s Day celebration event with Google Developer Group (GDG) Sri Lanka on 12 th of March 2017 with 87 women participants from 9.30 am to 3.00 p.m. All the registered participants were women and the men on the floor were our invitees and GDG organizers only. This was my first ever experience as a Women Techmakers lead. We started our event at 9.30 am by Giving an Introduction about Women Techmakers and International Women's Day. The introductory session was ended by playing the greeting’ video sent us by Chelle Obligacion-Gray  who is a  Community Manager - APAC, Developer Ecosystem Team at   GooglAPAC.  Then we had a motivation speech by an invited female speaker (Ms.Oshana Dias, Vice President Human Resources at Brandix i3).
